Bergamot mint (Latin: mentha citrata) from the labiate family is a relatively rare specialty mint from southern France. It owes its nickname “lemon mint” to its gentle minty aroma with lemony notes. The particularly mild essential oil obtained from bergamot mint also has proven medical benefits.
